Putting the Framework Into Practice
Introducing Snapshots
The BOUNCE Approach® helps you understand what sits beneath behaviour. Snapshots help you see where that strain is building, for a particular child, right now.
A Snapshot is a short, structured tool that takes around two minutes to complete. It gives you an overall indicator of current vulnerability and a breakdown across four key areas, so you can see where support may be needed most.
It moves a team from “something feels off” to “this is what we are seeing” – and it does it before difficulties become visible as crisis.
Where the Framework and the Tool Meet
Every Snapshot is scored against The BOUNCE Approach®. The pillars you have been learning about are what the questions are looking for, and what the recommendations draw on.
The framework tells you what to look for
The Snapshot tells you where it is showing up
Re-running it tells you whether what you changed is working
Have a Look at One
These are worked examples using fictional data. Each one shows the completed Snapshot, the indicator, the domain breakdown and the recommended next steps. Pick whichever is closest to what you are noticing at the moment.
If You Would Like to Use Them
Professional membership gives you every Snapshot domain, unlimited use across your setting, and direct links from each flagged area through to the matching resources and training. Selected courses also include the single Snapshot that matches them.
Understanding the framework changes how you see a child. Snapshots turn that understanding into something you can act on, share with your team, and review.
