E: Esteem + Applied Identity

Categories: Applied Sciences, Self

About Course

This introductory Applied Identity course explores how children gradually develop their sense of self through their experiences, relationships, sensory world, emotions, communication and the meaning they make of those experiences. Drawing on developmental psychology, attachment theory and contemporary approaches to self-understanding, you’ll discover how protective beliefs emerge, why identity continues to develop throughout childhood, and how safe relationships help children build self-awareness, belonging and authenticity.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a stronger understanding of how children develop beliefs about themselves and be equipped to support identity through curiosity, acceptance and compassionate relationships – recognising that children are far more than their behaviours, emotions or experiences.

This course brings together the learning from the entire Applied Series and provides the essential foundation for applying the BOUNCE Approach® through practitioner training and child-centred assessment.
